Keycard Scanner
About
About
The system was designed for a care home in Hove to track staff shifts with an intuitive summary for the director. Staff use keycards to check in and out by tapping them on an RFID pad, triggering a tone and displaying a notification on a nearby screen. The system logs data to a Google Sheet, which the director can manage. The backend is programmed in Python, with asynchronous frontend and backend components. The data is stored in the Google Sheet, with updates backlogged if there’s a power or internet failure. New staff can be added by scanning a new RFID card. The hardware includes a Raspberry Pi 4B, RFID scanner, buzzer, touchscreen, and card rack.
